Longtime friends Laura Rene Marks-Trueman (Mad Men, Gotham, Public Enemies, Men in Black) and director Alan Swyer (HBO Rebound, The Buddy Holly Story, Beisbol) caught up over lunch in 2018 during the premiere week for Swyer's Billy Vera film, From Harlem to Hollywood.
Their shared history in the film industry dates back years, with Trueman also having attended Swyer's El Boxeo film festival premiere in 2013.

Laura Rene Marks-Trueman is the CFO of Lillee Jean Productions, managing actress and director Lillee Jean Trueman. She is best known for her expertise in antiques, vintage items, and memorabilia within the entertainment industry. She has worked with such greats as William Seippel of Worthpoint in appraisal of high-cost estates. Trueman has collaborated with major studios, such as Paramount, Warner Bros., Lionsgate, Columbia Pictures, New Line Cinema, TNT, AMC, and SONY Pictures. She is known for her notable work supplying prop guns for the Public Enemies Movie, working with Scott Getzinger on several projects, and various props for scenes in the Men in Black movies 1-3. Trueman has worked in television, including prop running and buying, on The Alienist, alongside prop master Ellen Freund, and with Freund on Mad Men seasons 3 through 7, among other notable smalls for various Hollywood productions.
